Our School

Strath Haven Middle School, located in Wallingford, Pennsylvania, includes grades six through eight operating on a team model. Each grade level consists of two teams, including teachers of Math, English/Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, and Special Education. Additionally, each grade has one guidance counselor who remains with them until the end of their 9th grade school year.

This model is designed to help create a learning environment that promotes educational, social, and emotional success. Also, this method helps to create continuity for parents/students and helps to promote healthy transition between the elementary and secondary school years.

What is Panther Pride?

Panther Pride is Strath Haven Middle School's version of PBIS - Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. PBIS is a nationally recognized framework, developed by researchers from the University of Oregon,  that aims to support students, staff, and schools in creating a systemwide framework of clear behavioral expectations and programming that supports the recognition of positive behaviors. These facets of the PBIS framework, combined with explicit instruction on the expectations matrix, the collection of behavioral data for analysis, and the intentional use of our Panther Pride mantra, help create and build a positive school culture and atmosphere.

The four tenets of Panther Pride are:

Stay Safe   -   Stay Responsible   -   Stay Respectful   -   Stay Kind
